Our Salvation Testimonies

Tim:
I grew up in an unsaved home in Bluffton, Indiana where I attended vacation Bible school occasionally as a child. When I was 17, shortly after my father’s death, a high school class mate invited me to a Youth For Christ (YFC) meeting. After much persuasion I finally agreed to attend the meeting, but only because I thought my friend would stop asking me. I enjoyed the meeting so much that I started attending on a regular basis. One night at the YFC meeting, after the Gospel had been presented, I accepted the Lord as my personal Savior.

Lisa:
I am very thankful that I was raised in a Christian home and attended church from the time I was born. When I was about ten years old my family and I attended a community-wide evangelistic crusade in my home town of Monroe, Indiana. The evangelist was a chalk artist who shared the Gospel while drawing beautiful pictures. One evening during the salvation invitation, I went forward with my sister and received the Lord as my Savior.

What Influenced the Deam Team to Work with Child Evangelism Fellowship®?
In 1985 Lisa began hosting and teaching a Good News Club® in our home in Bluffton, Indiana. Lisa’s excitement of seeing children come to Christ influenced Tim to get involved with Child Evangelism Fellowship® (CEF®). After much prayer, in 1984 we felt the Lord leading us into full-time CEF ministry. Upon completion of the required training, Tim became the local CEF director of Huntington, Wells, Adams and Jay counties in north-east Indiana.
A few years later the Lord opened the door for us to travel around Indiana as state training team before joining the CEF of Indianapolis staff. In 1997 we were asked to join the department of education staff at the CEF World Headquarters in Warrenton, MO where we presently are faculty members at the Children’s Ministries Institute® (CMI®). Our ministry at the World Headquarters is one that influences the lives of children all around the world. We’ve had a part in training adults and teens from several countries as well as Americans who travel overseas to reach the children. Besides being instructors at CMI, Tim is responsible for the prayer program with the CMI students as well as the World Headquarters staff; Lisa has written Bible lessons and children’s devotionals for CEF Press®; we have assisted in creating VBS curriculum and we especially enjoy our role as staff advisors for the CMI student social activities.
